Garage Sale Shopping

I'm not much of a garage saler....mostly because I like to sleep in on Saturday!



On my way home from the library this past Saturday however, I stopped at several. The best was a huge church sale where I picked up these treasures:




























-a set of small black shutters for $1....don't know what I'll do with these yet, but I couldn't pass them up



-a Genius edition Trivial Pursuit game for $3....many a road trip hour was passed asking and answering questions between the front and back seats of our car growing up....now all three households have a set! The sad thing is, even having heard most all of the questions over the years, I still don't know most of the answers!

(p.s. I tried to mobile blog this from my phone, but it never showed up! oh well....)

Paint Thinner

So, I think I told you that at the end of last year my offices moved. Our particular part of the company does not completely fill our floor. We share with the building management company and a spare space that the construction company is using for storage (and could become a small law firm or the like later on).

Mid afternoon today, there began to waft through our offices a pretty strong smell of paint. Or more specifically paint thinner. Apparently the workers had spilled a VAT of paint thinner and it was pulled into the ventilation system.

I started to have a little bit of difficulty breathing and a headache (and could actually kinda taste the fumes and feel them in my teeth - weird, I know), but didn't really think too much of it. Basically, I just had WAY too much to get done to even think of going home early. And it wasn't so bad that I really thought I needed to leave.

BUT, our HSE manager pretty much forced us all to leave. Apparently paint thinner fumes are pretty toxic.....and when you stop noticing the smell, it is starting to cause some serious harm.

So, here I am at home now, working, trying to stay caught up....and still feeling the effects in my breathing and some aches in my bones. So strange......

Mail-to blogging

I've never taken advantage of the blogger mail-to feature for posting.
Mostly because if I am sitting at a computer to type an email, I can
just jump over to blogger.

Now that I have my iPhone, I'm trying to not sit at my computer in the
evenings and weekends. Plus, I can just type up a quick post whenever,
rather than having to wait until I am at a computer and inevitably
forgetting what I wanted to blog about.

So, assuming this works right, get ready to hear from more often. At
least in fits and spurts.
