So, I'm sitting in a hotel in Yuma, Colorado......listening to at least golf ball size hail rain down on the roof above me and periodically smash into my window.....please pray that this storm will pass quickly and that there will be no major damage or injuries.
Hail appears to be done for now.....still raining and thunder, though.....

Mold
Did you know that coffee can mold? I certainly didn't. I guess when my parents were here for Mother's Day (yes, two weeks ago), we didn't empty the coffee pot on the way to church. Daddy dumped the grounds, but I never noticed that there was still coffee in the pot. I glanced that way just now and realized there was quite the mold colony growing. Gross.
Some assembly required
I know there are a lot of folks that are scared by those three little words.....but generally not me. I am sitting typing in my new desk chair....which took me about 30 minutes to put together. It's not rocket science, but comforting to know that I can follow directions and assemble something! The story of the chair itself is a good one -- I've been looking for a new chair for months and found a great one -- but it was a little more pricey than I wanted to spend. However, never did find another that matched up. So, finally decided to bite the bullet yesterday -- and what do I find out when I get up to check out? The chair is $90 off! Plus I had a $20 coupon, so it was less than half price!! Yippee!!!
Quick catch up on my reading - I've finished all the Harry Potter books and am now waiting anxiously for both the movie from book 5 and the release of book 7 later this summer. Also finished the Uncommon Heros series by Dee Henderson. Quick reads, but fun to see a glimpse into military life.
My parents are in town this weekend -- anticipating the thought of a long holiday weekend without seeing their girls caused a spur of the moment trip. They are staying with Heather & Phillip this time.....we're off to see Pirates of the Carribean at the Studio Movie Grill in a little while.
Looking forward to slowing down a little bit in the next few weeks. This next week will mark 4 in a row that I'm out of the office 2+ days. Nice to have the change of scenery, but it makes for craziness trying to make sure that everything continues to flow as intended.
And maybe, if it stops raining, I'll mow my yard sometime soon!

Married
Well, they've done it. My friends Brad and Laura are now well and truly married. After a breathtakingly beautiful heartfelt and poignant ceremony, we adjorned to the Tower Club for a quite atypical CofC wedding reception. Truth be known, it was an all out party. So fun. Good food and drink, good music, lots of good friends and fellowship time. Now, I'm off to sleep.....to dream of my prince charming and someday wedding.....

Onion
According to Spirit magazine (on Southwest Airlines), the onion is apparently the state vegetable of Texas. Did anyone else know that we have a state vegetable? Learned that on a flight to my state capitol tonight. Of course I believed Southwest's research department, but I googled it anyway. Lot of other interesting state mascots.....you can read all about them here if you are interested.
Traveling for work....CPE conference. Hopefully the two days of learning will actually be useful and I won't regret the craziness that work became in getting me prepared to be out of the office!
Ran into an old schoolmate in the airport.....Andy was a year ahead of me but we went to school together throughout middle/high school and college. He's a sucessful attorney, married, with a 19 month old baby girl living in Amarillo. I don't think I'd seen him since he graduated and went off to law school. He's in town for CLE --- at the same hotel as me I think. How random!

The 7 Meme.....
I've been tagged by Sarah to complete the following meme.....
Here are the rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. You need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!
1. Habit -- I am a habitual snoozer.....seriously. I'll set my alarm 30-60 minutes ahead of when I really need to get up so that I can punch the snooze button repeatedly.
2. Fact -- I have my motorcycle license and plan to own a Harley-Davidson some day.
3. Habit -- I pop pretty much every joint possible - neck, back, knees, toes, and especially fingers.
4. Fact -- I do not have a green thumb. Though I enjoy live plants, I have a really hard time keeping them alive.
5. Habit -- I talk to myself .... often ..... out loud.
6. Fact -- I collect thimbles.....I have almost 200.
7. Habit -- I got sucked into soap opera watching in college - General Hospital in particular. I still record it every day (though I do skim through some storylines now).
So, here goes the tag....if you want to play, please do!!
