YMCA

I went with some girlfriends to the YMCA last night for yoga and I am very sore today! I had been thinking about joining the Y and the metro area where I live has a membership program where you can go to any of the locations under one membership. So, I can go to yoga with my friends for the cameraderie and accountability at the branch closer to their homes and also work out closer to my home other times. So today, I officially became a member!

We joined the Y on December 1st and I absolutely LOVE IT!! I am pretty sure they have the "First Steps" program nationwide (it may be called 3N1 now) but it's basically where you get 12 weeks with a "coach" (trainer) who helps you get started and develops programs for you. It's super cool and free (if you're a member!) Murray and I signed up and have been loving it!

Way to go! Fitness classes are the best cardio for me. They are fun (as fun as a workout can be) and you can go with friends which makes it even better!

Hey...we're traveling to the big D soon. I'll let you know when and I'll come do a workout with you b/c your membership is good anywhere!!

Do you KNOW how many hot men hang out in the weight room at the YMCA? Oh yeah, getting in shape is good too - good for you.

Way to go! If only I had motivation to join somewhere. I do Wii Fit but it just isn't quite the same.

That's Great! You'll feel so good about doing something for your body (even if your body doesn't feel so good sometimes :)

I joined the Y last week too and I love it! I also signed up for Boot Camp there three times a week at 5:45AM. Yowza! It's good for me, though!

I was a member of the Y when I lived in Corsicana and I loved it. I tried to go as often as I could. There is not one in Weatherford, so I have been going to Powerhouse Gym for 3 years. It is great. I do cardio exercises on the machines and also the different circuit weights. I also participate in some classes including Power (weights); Turbo Kick (aerobics) and Centergy (Pilates & Yoga). I can't go everyday but I try to go often during the week. It is a lot of fun.

Keep up the good start!

Hi Jenni!
Glad you have a 'city-wide' program in the Big D. I use it for Houston, that is for sure! (plus, we can go to other locations in the country, so remember that for your travels).
